Immobiliser fault

This is the second time the immobilser has kicked in and stopping us from starting the car. Last time we took it to a Merc dealer and they were able to reset it (they said 'as per the manual' My wife is stuck some 20 miles away and I need to see a copy of the manual so I can talk her through how to reset it....
